Big Little Lies was so fun to read. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire book. I wanted to read it before the show came out on HBO and I did. But when I went to watch the show it followed to book to the T and made it feel like I was back at the beginning, plus my little ones were running around and I couldn’t focus. I don’t even think I finished the first episode. Maybe I will go back and try to watch it again.
The book follows a group of women and their children in a small town in Australia. All the women have their own problems in their personal lives and with their respective children. Jane is a single mother to Ziggy, who is accused of bullying one of the other children. Jane becomes friends with some of the other mothers who learn the identity of Ziggy’s father. The novel comes to a head on trivia night where someone is killed. I’m not going to tell you if it was an accident or on purpose but it is the plot twist of the year! Go read it and maybe watch the show.
I have already told you that I really enjoyed this book. I want to read more from her because she was just a great writer and I enjoy reading novels from authors that write in different countries. It gives me a little glimpse of what life is like in a different country. I am always looking for great recommendations, so if you have a favorite book or author that lives and writes in a different country please leave me a comment to peak my interest.
